Yeah, you're over it

Hey there

Well, for all of those who would like to know any information about Friends Of Ron's latest news and upcoming shit then you've come to the right place.

What's been happening lately? Nothing really. Oh, we saw Against Me! last month so if you weren't there, you missed out, it was cool. Pickle has also made a return at long last from his holiday and we have begun rehearsals for a super dooper wacky extreme concert at school this Wendesday, be there or be a circle.

Also my other band Empathy is recording so let me know if you want a copy of it, it won't cost you much.

Cheers

Love Rob

Stuff has been updated!

G'Day everyone

What's been going on at Friends Of Ron you might ask? The answer is, a fair bit and not alot at the same time. We played at the Tas Music rock challenge about this time last month, that was rad except we played first. And for some reason we didn't make it to the final... maybe it was rigged, maybe it was cos we were too crap or maybe because we said shit too often, we'll never know. Although my other band Empathy made it into the final, but we didn't win, oh well.

Between the heat at the final me and Luke went down to Bes Mudi to audition to play there, consequently I was singing for hours and hours on end and lost my voice for about two weeks, thus sounding shit when I sung in Empathy for the final. Not trying to make excuses, and apparently you shouldn't apologise if you sound like shit, go figure.

Anyway we got to play at Bes two weeks after that and I must say even though we got paid for it, it wasn't all that fun. So the next week we went back and played, this time we had a good time but I don't think they're gonna invite us back again, oh well. The people that were there can talk about it when we're big and famous, like the people that were at the first Beatles gigs.

Luke wrote a new song called "88" which is about an encouter that we had with a bogan chick in the bus mall when she asked us if we had any smokes, we'll play it to you some time if you want.

Luke is currently sick so let's hope he gets better as soon as possible. And Pickle is embarking on a journey across the country so we won't have a drummer for a while so it look like we'll have a chance to make ourselves sound a little better acoustically.

Well I'm gunna go stick the lyrics up for Gay Jock and 88.

See ya round

Love Rob

Eventful couple of days

G'Day blokes

Well we've had a rather eventful day today, Luke and I had a practise! Fancy that! Luke has just written a whole new bunch of songs for the "Best Of Friends" album including the songs I think will be hits like "The un-wanted Filet named Frank" and "My Mate Russel" I think it's called. Also we did a bit of fixing up for "Song About A Gay Jock" and did some more practising.

Also the guestbook was disabled so there is no longer any of the previous comment. This time let's make it about the love rather than the hate and bagging out, so write some stuff about what you love and we will love you also. Come to the rock challenge to further share our mutual love for music and check out EMPATHY, JAMARTA, THIS SIDE UP as well as ourselves, I'm sure all bands will put on a great show and rock your bloody socks off. Spread the love.

Cheers - Rob xoxo

More guestbook controversy

Hey blokes, it has been a very eventful couple of days here at friendsofron.8m.com. The guestbook is overflowing with hilarity and intellect. That No Use For A Name bloke sure is a crack up, no doubt it's probably one of my best mates trying to stir up some trouble, probably Luke actually. I'm not even going to reply to those comments because they are so bloody stupid that they don't deserve a reply. If the "little tranny" you are reffering to was the singer of Empathy then that was me and now I have no idea how much I suck right now, maybe you should try wearing a dress on the stage some time, it is one of the best feelings that you can experience. To that Bobstar bloke, I apologise but I am currently in a very serious long term relationship with myself so I'm not really looking for a relationship right now. And yes, we are definately in the rock challenge.

Cheers - Rob xoxo

We're copping a bit of flack right now

Hey guys, we are getting a heap of shit from a lot of people who choose to remain anonymous but my guess is that they attend Rose Bay high school and are currently enjoying intimate relationships with various members of Jamarta. I would like to say that we here at friendsofron.8m.com completely support everything that Jamarta does and we have never made a public statement taking the piss out of them, we wish them the best of luck with their careers as musicians and as a band. And yes you guys are right, we should probably get a real job but it does not bother us at all that we are gay because that is just who we are and we are comfortable with being attracted to men. Unlike other people we are happy with what we are and to quote the great men that are the Vandals " I don't give a damn cos I am what I am, even if it's really really bad" unquote. Telling us we are gay is not an insult, it is stating a fact so my apologies if you were intending to offend us by pointing out our homosexuality. If you want to read more of me raving about the idiots who have made derogatory comments about us, just head to the "To all those complaing" page.

Cheers - Rob

Wouldn't you love your very own signed Friends Of Ron rock challenge poster? It's be great to show off to all your friends to show just how cool you really are. If you don't have friends this would be a great way to meet new people, they will use you for your signed Friends Of Ron poster.

To enter the competition just head to the guest book page and send us an email explaining firstly why you think Friends Of Ron are a very crap band and secondly what you would do with your poster

Winner will be judged on August 17th 2004

Cheers - Barry Parker, Head Of Science, Clarence High School

Rock Challenge

Unless you've got something better to do like stay at home and watch TV you should probably come and support us at the rock challenge. I'm not sure when or where it's on but if you're really that desperate I'm sure you can find out for yourself. I think it's on some time in August, about the same time Sam gets a haircut. It will probably be our first performance to more than the odd coupls of people who choose to annoy us to hang around when we practise so expect it to be filled with complete and utter bullshit and poor excuses for songs.

Cheers - Pickle

The Best Of Friends

We are currently in the writing process of our debut album titled "Best Of Friends" it's due to be out probably sometime around October. It will probably cost you money unless of course you steal it. I can tell you that the songs featured on the album are very heavily influenced by Cannibal Corpse, Cannibal Corpse and Intense Hammer Rage.

Cheers - Sadam
